Information on the funding of innovative projects in the higher education sector

Free space for teaching development

"Freiraum" translates to "free space" or "scope" is a call for proposals that enables teachers to develop and test ideas for teaching without thematic or subject-related restrictions. Projects are selected on the basis of their innovative potential and the call for proposals is issued regularly. The initiative is aimed at teachers at universities, encouraging individuals to submit project ideas, with a lottery process determining access to the application process among those interested.

Shaping the university of the future

"Teaching Architecture" aims to strengthen university teaching and empower students to shape society. The call for proposals offers universities the opportunity to improve their teaching practice and sharpen their profiles. Projects focus on the testing and structural integration of innovations in teaching and learning, with an application deadline from the end of July 2024, a maximum project duration of six years and a funding volume of around 480 million euros.

Good air in schools

The "Good air in schools" website offers comprehensive information on the subject of ventilation and air quality in school buildings. It is aimed at both schools and planners in school construction. The initiative is supported by the Heinz Trox Foundation.

The YouTube channel "Developing learning spaces :: online" presents a variety of videos on the topic of sustainable school construction. In videos lasting between 30 and 60 minutes, the various aspects of this topic are examined from different perspectives and discussed in detail.

Munich learning centre concept

The City of Munich has developed a new type of building for its own school construction programme that is different from the corridor school. The "Munich Learning House Concept" is presented in a multimedia format on its own website. In addition to the classic image and text formats, videos, podcasts and blog posts can also be found here.
